Major Joshua B. Douglass, Sr. started his career with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in 2013. He previously worked for the State of Alabama as a Probation and Parole Officer for approximately two years. During his tenure with the MCSO, he has served in the Patrol Division, Legal Services Division, Administrative Division, Special Operations Bureau, and Narcotics.
As the Commander of the Administrative Division, Major Douglass is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of division which include budget, purchasing and community programs. In addition to his responsibilities in the Administrative Division, he is the Tactical Team Leader of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team. He is tasked with directing the team during high-risk incidents.
Major Douglass earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University. He attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy - Class 282 in 2022. Major Douglass lives by the motto, “excellence in humility and humility in excellence.”
