The Training Division is responsible for continuing education, on-site and remote training programs, firearms training, and recruiting new members to the MCSO.

Recognizing the importance of continuing education, the Sheriff’s Office has adopted a proactive stance in obtaining it.  Rather than solely relying on various outside training opportunities, we have cultivated a roster of on-staff certified instructors, trainers and subject matter experts in several disciplines.  This approach allows us to actively develop and implement relevant training, but also to extend it freely to law enforcement agencies statewide. 

To support these efforts, the Training Division is equipped with cutting edge technology, mobile training platforms, multiple classrooms, pistol and rifle ranges, a live-fire “shoot-house” and active shooter training locations.  We currently welcome numerous federal and state agencies throughout the year for a wide array of training, and we actively seek out training opportunities from both public and private entities to host at our facilities.
